New Lifetime Membership Award Winner
The honorary lifetime membership is awarded to recognize a long term club member who has gone above and beyond in volunteering at the club. A nomination is considered for a senior member who has helped in various club activities through the years. The full list of criteria are posted on the website.
The award isn’t presented every year, however we are pleased to announce that we have a new honorary lifetime membership to award this year.
Twenty years ago, Ross and Wendy Gowan moved to Creston. Ross wasted no time in joining the curling club and pitching right in. He started by helping with the ice and has been a key volunteer working with our icemen, every year since then, installing, removing, and maintaining the ice.
He’s served on the board for a number of years including ice liaison, as well as one term as Vice President and two terms as President.
Ross was a key member of the Butterfly bonspiel for many years. He’s helped with other curling events and is always here to lend a hand when needed. He’s been involved with in various clinics and workshops through the years and worked with Special O as well the high school students.
