Terry O’Connor came to Creston from Calgary 2006. He was very active at the Calgary Curling Club. It did not take him long to become a valuable volunteer at the Creston Curling Club.
Terry has served the club in many roles that included a short term on the board of directors making the league draws for all the night leagues and weekly standings in those leagues throughout the curling season. He also became the Draw Master for our Annual Ladies Valentines and Men’s Butterfly Bonspiels over the past 20 years.
Terry used his competitive coaching skills to coach the high school Junior Girls for over 10 years and he continues to volunteer to coach new club curlers.
In the past five years Terry has joined Josh’s ice making crew to assist in installing the ice at the start of the season. He continues to assist in organizing fund-raising cash spiels for the club, most recently the Doug Bothamley spiels. He also organizes the Senior Men’s League and manages and posts the draws and standings for league for the past numbers of years.
Terry’s dedication to the club, and to growing the sport in the club is exceptional!
