Juniors

The Creston Curling Club is again hosting the Junior curling program for the Winter half. This 8 week Junior League runs on Thursdays after school, 4:15 – 5:45 PM, beginning January 15, 2026 and ending March 12, 2026 (no session on February 26 due to the Butterfly bonspiel). Our certified Club Coaches will teach fundamental skills, basic game play and sportsmanship in a fun, non-competitive setting. The first two weeks will be an introduction to curling and will be 1 hour in duration. This program is for youth aged 12-18. Parents are not required to stay.

Cost for 8 weeks is $40 + GST + Curl BC/Curling Canada fees = $69. The Club provides all the equipment (brooms, grippers, sliders).

Participants must wear clean, indoor shoes and dress in warm, flexible clothing. Helmets are strongly recommended. Bike or skateboard helmets are suitable.

We also currently operate a Youth Curling Program through the schools offering 1 hour session for grades 4 through 12. In that hour we cover the very basics and then they participate in a short game with the emphasis being on fun. The general consensus and feedback suggests that they are having a great time. The sessions are followed up with a letter to the parents encouraging them to contact our club to find out more about our junior program as well. The school distributes this letter via email. We have also conducted similar sessions with the International students.

A great big THANK YOU to our volunteers that help with our youth. If you are not volunteering for these sessions please consider it as without the volunteers this just doesn’t happen.
